What Penny is

A Penny for Your Thoughts is a private reflective journaling app with an optional AI companion ("Penny"). It is a tool for personal reflection.

Penny is not therapy, counseling, or medical or mental-health care, and Penny's reflections are not professional advice.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, US) or contact local emergency services at 911. Please reach out to people who can help right away.

Your diary entries belong to you. By using Penny you give us only the permission needed to store, display back to you, export, and — while the AI switch is on (it's on by default; you can turn it off any time in My space) — AI-process your entries to run the features you use.
You can export or delete your content at any time from My space. Deletion is permanent.

Plus unlocks premium features such as AI reflections, voice entries, photo entries, and deeper mood insights — listed on the Plus page at purchase time.
Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe; store subscriptions through Apple/Google. Prices are shown before you confirm.
Cancel any time; you keep Plus until the end of the paid period. Cancelling never deletes your diary, and export/delete stay free forever.
Penny's AI is on by default — it is the core of the app — and can be turned off any time in My space. Plus never overrides that switch; with AI off, Plus AI features pause and the diary features keep working.

Don't use Penny to store or share unlawful content, harass others through circle sharing, or attempt to access another person's account or diary.
Circle sharing is your choice and your responsibility: only share what you're comfortable with the people you picked seeing.

We may improve or change features; if a change removes something material from Plus, we'll announce it in the app first.
The service is provided "as is" during the beta period; we work to keep your diary safe and available but cannot promise uninterrupted service.
